The Richland Police Department is concerned, as with all Americans, of recent school violence.

If it can happen in small, rural one-room schools, or happen a few miles away in Joplin... it could happen around here.

We NEVER want to see any acts of violence in our schools.

In our mission to keep our schools safe, we need your help.

It is estimated that in 80% of the past cases, the suspects have made remarks or otherwise "communicated" their intents.

If you have ANY suspicions that someone is planning violence in any Missouri school, the Richland Police Department urges you to call the

Missouri Safe Schools Hotline.... 1-866-748-7047.

If you do not get immediate assistance, or if a threat is imminent or occurring, call 9-1-1 immediately!

You never have to give your name or personal information if you don't want to.  Please just provide the law enforcement officials with as much information as you can.

All information will be investigated.
